Middlesbrough vs Preston North End

Middlesbrough go into this game with a perfect home record after winning all three games at home this season.

Visitors, Preston go into this game above the hosts on seven points after two one nil wins, a draw and a lose in the first 4 games.

Preston will be hoping to get a shock result against Boro, a team they have struggled against in the past after losing 1-0 the last time these two sides met.

Middlesbrough go into this game with a good home record.

Positive result required

After beating Scunthorpe 3-0 in the cup Garry Monk’s side will be wanting to build on this victory and will be expected to do so after home wins against Sheffield United and Burton Albion previously in the league.

Preston will go into this game looking for a positive result so will play the strongest side available to them.

Middlesbrough will also look to make the changes after the cup and will recall Britt Assombalonga into the starting line up.

A player who will expect to keep his place is Lewis Baker after he put in a man of the match display in the cup midweek, scoring a goal.

Prediction

I can see the home side winning but like two seasons ago I reckon it’ll be a tough game for Boro with a couple of goals scored from few chances, for that reason I’m going 2-0 Boro.

Middlesbrough 2-0 Preston.

Result: Middlesbrough 0-0 Preston
