Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest meet at the John Smith Stadium in Friday Night Football from Sky Bet Championship, as both teams look to pick up their first win of 2020-21 season.
Both teams enter this tie locked on zero points with Forest just inside the relegation zone unlike Huddersfield and victory could see either team climb as high as 16th.
Naby Sarr is set for his Huddersfield debut after spending the last fortnight in self isolation as per new rules for joining a club as a free agent, following the defender’s exit from Charlton at end of last season.
Carel Eiting could also make his Terriers bow but Christopher Schindler, Danny Ward (both hamstring) and Lewis O’Brien (quad) remain ruled out, as Karlan Grant’s future continues to be in doubt after links with a move away from the club.
Forest will be without midfielder, Fouad Bachirou due to a hamstring injury as the Frenchman joins Samba Sow (knee), Tiago Silva (ankle) and Joe Worrall (foot).
- Huddersfield are unbeaten in three of last five meetings against Nottingham Forest (W3, L2).
- Forest have won just one of their last six Championship trips to Huddersfield (W1, D2, L3).
- Two of Huddersfield’s three goals in this fixture last season came from strikers, with exception of Christopher Schindler’s goal at this ground in a 2-1 Terriers win.
After a disastrous start to the season for both teams with no goals scored and four conceded in their opening two matches, this is a must-win if either team want to finally ignite their campaign.
Huddersfield did a great job of keeping Brentford out in the first half last weekend before caving in throughout the second-half but really do need to find goals if they want to challenge for promotion, whereas Forest just seem to be in an never-ending slumber this season but if there is a game where they can come alive and finally kick-start their promotion tilt, it surely must be this match.
I therefore am expecting a scrappy game between two sloppy defences but if Forest can find their attacking boots then I have to go for an away win.
Prediction: Huddersfield Town 0-2 Nottingham Forest
Result: Huddersfield Town 1-0 Nottingham Forest
