Norwich City are now one point away from automatic promotion after a defining round of Easter Monday action in the Sky Bet Championship. 

Goals from Onel Hernandez and Teemu Pukki had put the Canaries ahead only to twice be pulled back by Ashley Williams then Tom Edwards as Stoke held them to a 2-2 draw. 

Sheffield United meanwhile remain second and three points behind after thrashing Hull 3-0 but Leeds’ promotion hopes took a huge hit after Neal Maupay and Sergi Canos struck to hand Brentford victory over the Whites. 

Fourth-placed West Brom were held to a goalless draw at Reading whilst Jonathan Kodjia clinched a 1-0 win for Aston Villa over Millwall, as Villa move to within three points of the Baggies.

Middlesbrough dropped out of the top six after a 3-0 battering at Nottingham Forest, allowing Derby to climb into the last play-off spot after Harry Wilson clinched a dramatic injury time brace to see off a brave QPR side. 

Bristol City could of gone sixth but fell to a 2-0 away defeat at Sheffield Wednesday after stunners from Barry Bannan and Lucas Joao handed the Owls victory.

Elsewhere, Birmingham came from behind to beat Rotherham 3-1, effectively condemning the Millers to almost near certain relegation which will be confirmed on Saturday if they lose at West Brom and Millwall secure a point against Stoke City. 

Wigan and Blackburn emerged victorious in Lancashire derbies against Preston and Bolton respectively with 2-0 results. 

Finally, Swansea saw off Ipswich through a Wayne Routledge rebound after Daniel James’ shot struck the post.
