Norwich City stay top of the Sky Bet Championship despite dropping points at home to Reading in a 2-2 draw. 

Yakou Meite initially handed the Royals a 30th minute lead before late goals from Ben Godfrey and Christoph Zimmerman appeared to send Norwich eight points clear at the top, until Andy Rinomhota struck to secure a share of the points. 

Leeds reclaimed second after Patrick Bamford’s second-half brace downed Preston and Sheffield United were held to a 1-1 draw at Birmingham City. 

West Brom meanwhile saw their slip of form continue as they valiantly lost 3-2 at sixth-placed Bristol City, having been 3-0 down after 19 minutes.

Aston Villa split the pair after coming from behind to see off Rotherham, who remain in the bottom three but seven ahead of Bolton, after the Trotters were beaten by an Ashley Fletcher brace for Middlesbrough.

Ipswich however could become the first team to be relegated on Saturday after falling to a 2-0 away defeat at Brentford to all but end their survival hopes.

Elsewhere, Sheffield Wednesday kept their faint playoff hopes alive after Marco Matias’ brace either side of George Boyd’s strike saw off Nottingham Forest. 

Derby’s play-off hopes took a knock after losing 2-0 at Blackburn but remain ahead of Hull on goal difference, after the Tigers came from behind for the second consectuive match against relegation battlers – this time seeing off Wigan. 

Swansea won a mid-table clash with Stoke 3-1 through Oli McBurnie’s late header after the Potters had Bruno Martins Iii and Tom Edwards sent off early in second-half. 

Finally, Millwall held QPR to a goalless draw at The Den.
