Sergio Perez has signed an extension which will see him remain with Racing Point Force India for a sixth season as part of 2019 Formula One season.
The Mexican has already enjoyed plenty of success with the team so far and is on course for a third consecutive seventh placed finish in the drivers’ championship.
Speaking about his decision, the ex Sauber star feels that the team “has allowed me to grow as a driver” but believes that “the best is yet to come.”
Team Principal, Otmar Szafnauer meanwhile is excited that the 28 year-old will continue “his journey” with the team whilst providing “valuable stability” as they prepare for next season and beyond.
As for who will partner Perez next season, it remains unclear whether it will be Williams’ Lance Stroll or a potentially retained Esteban Ocon.
