Wednesday’s Premier League action sees the top four battle take centre stage as Chelsea and Tottenham play their catch up games.

Chelsea vs Huddersfield is our big match preview and can be found here, given that game’s result will impact both ends of the league table.

Arsenal and Manchester City are also in action, against sides with nothing to play for.

Leicester City vs Arsenal

Leicester v Arsenal.jpg

Free falling Leicester City face a tough test as they welcome a remerging Arsenal side to the King Power Stadium.

These sides met on the opening day with the Gunners winning a 4-3 thriller.

Leicester have drawn four of last six home games so will fancy their chances against a side, that is yet to take any point away from home in domestic football this calendar year.

Add in the fact that Arsenal are on a WLWLW pattern at the minute and safe in sixth with nothing to play for, I think that this might end in a draw particularly if Arsene Wenger decides to give some youngsters a run out.

Prediction: Leicester City 1-1 Arsenal

Jake predicts: Leicester City 0-0 Arsenal

Result: Leicester City 3-1 Arsenal

Manchester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Yaya Toure.jpg

This clash is an interesting one because Manchester City can finish on 100 points if win last two games, whilst Brighton could put themselves in pole for a top ten finish going into the final day with a victory here.

This is Yaya Toure’s final home game in a Man City shirt so can see him getting another classic goal to round off his time with the Citizens in style.

Brighton meanwhile will come here fresher, having beaten Manchester United on Friday night, whilst City played Huddersfield on Sunday afternoon.

Although the Seagulls will fancy their chances, they have avoided defeat in just two of seven previous visits to City.

Those games came at Maine Road so the Etihad is a new slate but I still fancy a home win here.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

Jake predicts: Manchester City 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

Result: Manchester City 3-1 Brighton and Hove Albion

Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United

Newcastle v Tottenham.jpg

A win for Tottenham here coupled with draw or defeat for Chelsea will see the North Londoners book their Champions League spot for next season.

Recent league meetings between these sides at White Hart Lane has seen Newcastle take the spoils but will things be different here at Wembley?

Throw in North East professional teams’ struggles to win at the new Wembley, this definitely looks like it could be a tough game for the Magpies.

This however is the first time that a North East team has visited the home of Football for a league game, so things could be different here compared to what Sunderland and Middlesbrough experienced in recent years in cup/play-off games respectively.

Form wise, both sides are in shaky form with Spurs losing two of last four and Newcastle suffering three consecutive defeats.

It’s easy to say a draw here but I fancy Tottenham to edge it because the Toon Army can barely manage a single goal per away game.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Newcastle United

Jake predicts: Tottenham Hotspur 0-0 Newcastle United

Result: Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Newcastle United
