The 2017-18 Champions League round of 16 stage reaches its climax as the full final eight are confirmed.

In the big match, Barcelona welcome Chelsea to the Nou Camp as they look to avoid an early exit.

Over in the early evening game, Besiktas look to mount an explosive comeback against Bayern Munich.

Barcelona vs Chelsea – 7:45pm (tie level 1-1 on aggregate)

Chelsea travel to Barcelona knowing that they must quieten Lionel Messi if want to progress.

With the tie firmly poised at 1-1 after Messi cancelled out Willian’s opener for Chelsea, Barca know that a 0-0 would see them through on away goals rule.

After losing their first two Champions League trips to the Nou Camp, Chelsea have drawn each of their four visits since.

Two of those draws were 2-2 and on their last visit, that was enough to send the Blues to the 2012 final and glory.

In an interesting twist, this tie is like a reversal of their 2008-09 semi final when drew 0-0 in first leg at Barcelona, before the Catalonians progressed with a 1-1 second leg draw at Stamford Bridge.

Could we see a reverse repeat here akin to that season when it was Pep Guardiola’s former side who won that season’s competition?

Chelsea however are unbeaten in last eight clashes with Barcelona so can see another draw here.

Ultimately I fancy the Spanish side to progress but on penalties.

Prediction: Barcelona 1-1 Chelsea (tie level 2-2 on aggregate and Barcelona wins on penalties)

Result: Barcelona 3-0 Chelsea (Barcelona win 4-1 on aggregate)

Besiktas vs Bayern Munich – 5:00pm (Bayern Munich lead 5-0 on aggregate)

This tie is virtually all but over after Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski braces in the first leg, alongside a Kingsley Coman effort.

Although things should be tighter, Bayern have too much about them quality and form wise to avoid a collapse.

Prediction: Besiktas 0-3 Bayern Munich (Bayern Munich win tie 8-0 on aggregate)

Result: Besiktas 1-3 Bayern Munich (Bayern Munich win 8-1 on aggregate)
