With Liverpool and Real Madrid through, Wednesday’s action sees Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur aim to join them in the last eight.

Manchester City have the simple task of not blowing a 4-0 first leg advantage at home to Basel.

Tottenham however face a tough test at home to Juventus but have two away goals in their favour.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Juventus

Spurs know that a goalless or 1-1 draw will send them through because of their two away goals.

Juventus however come here in fine form with the first leg being the only time they conceded in 2018.

Tottenham can count on their strong home form, having not lost since October in Carabao Cup.

Since then, they have taken 13 wins and two draws without conceding in nine from 15 matches.

Spurs fans will be pleased to know that 83% of clubs to draw first leg 2-2 away have gone on to progress to next stage.

In the gap since first leg, Spurs have had three players score at least two goals (Heung Son-Min – 4, Fernando Llorente – 3 & Harry Kane – 2.

Juventus in comparison have had just three players score one goal each.

Maybe they are saving themselves for this leg but I fancy a home win here.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Juventus

Result: Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Juventus (Juventus win 4-3 on aggregate)

Manchester City vs Basel (Man City lead 4-0 on aggregate)

Since the first leg three weeks ago, City have been in decent form winning their last three after a FA Cup exit at hands of Wigan.

The good news for City is that every team to win away in first leg by four goals has gone on to progress.

They are also unbeaten in last 12 Champions League matches at the Etihad.

Basel meanwhile might of have won their last two away matches in this competition, but have lost two previous legs at this stage 11-0 on aggregate.

Prediction wise, there will be only one result here and a comfortable one for that matter.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Basel

Result: Manchester City 1-2 Basel (Manchester City win 5-2 on aggregate)
