2017-18 Europa League: Last 32 – Second Leg

After wins in last week’s Europa League first legs, Arsenal and Celtic look to secure passage into the last 16.

Ostersunds FK and Zenit St Petersburg however stand in their way.

Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic take a slender 1-0 aggregate lead to Russia as Zenit seek to overturn the deflict.

From two previous trips to what will be this year’s FIFA World Cup host country, Celtic are unbeaten with a draw and win.

Both clashes however came against Spartak Moscow.

Last week marked Zenit’s first match since mid December so they will be match sharp here, after a scrappy first leg.

I am however going for a draw but Celtic to progress because they are yet to draw a blank in Russia.

Prediction: Zenit St Petersburg 1-1 Celtic

Result: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (Zenit St Petersburg win 3-1 on aggregate)

Arsenal vs Ostersunds FK (8:05pm)

Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start here due to being cup tied for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.

Arsenal have a comfortable 3-0 lead so can afford to sit back and rest players ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will rest several first team players but Danny Welbeck and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start.

The omens favour Arsenal, who have won their two previous home matches against Swedish opposition. Both wins however came in 1980 and 1999 so with this being a new century, could it give Ostersunds some hope?

Prediction wise, I can see a home win here if the visitors aren’t better than last week, but by a smaller margin due to Wenger fielding fringe players.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Ostersunds FK

Result: Arsenal 1-2 Ostersunds FK (Arsenal win 4-2 on aggregate)
