After Manchester United comfortably saw off Yeovil Town, action turns to a huge Saturday of fourth round games.
With so many games taking place, here at Sport Grill we are previewing the best matches of this round being played on Saturday.
Highlights include; Peterborough United vs Leicester City, Notts County vs Swansea, Southampton vs Watford and Wigan vs West Ham.
Newport County vs Tottenham Hotspur then follows at teatime before Liverpool host West Bromwich Albion in a very rare Saturday night primetime match at Anfield.
Peterborough United vs Leicester City (12:30pm)
Leicester City face a tough trip to London Road, having needed a replay to get past Fleetwood Town in last round.
Peterborough however have won 2 of their last three home games against the Foxes, all being Championship games.
This is the very first FA Cup meeting in this fixture, but Leicester lead on a (W2, D1, L2) record from five previous meetings in various cup competitions.
The Posh are unbeaten in 13 of their last 14 FA Cup clashes but haven’t beaten a Premier League team in that period.
If Leicester don’t repeat their squad rotation tactic from the trip to Fleetwood Town, they should easily win this game.
I am expecting both teams to score but think the Foxes will edge this.
Prediction: Peterborough United 1-2 Leicester City
Result: Peterborough United 1-5 Leicester City
Notts County vs Swansea
Carlos Carvalhal take his Swansea side to Meadow Lane to face a tricky Notts County side.
Whilst the Magpies are flying high in League Two, Swansea need a cup run to help instil confidence into a side fighting relegation in Premier League.
Both teams have met in this cup before with both winning when at home to the other.
I see this as a potential banana skin for the Swans, but the confidence from beating Liverpool on Monday will lift them here.
For that reason, I am expecting an away victory.
Prediction: Notts County 1-2 Swansea
Result: Notts County 1-1 Swansea
Southampton vs Watford
Watford head to St Marys under new management of Javi Garcia, after Marco Silva was surprisingly sacked on Sunday.
Both teams have struggled for form in recent months, with just two wins in just over two months between them.
FA Cup wise, Southampton have the edge with three wins from five meetings in this competition.
Watford’s only win came in a replay, after drawing 2-2 at the Dell in 1960 at this exact same stage.
Given the poor form of both teams, its easy to say a draw here but Southampton have scored in last four games this month.
Although the home side seem to have rediscovered their scoring touch, I am expecting Watford to have that new manager bounce here and it ending in a draw and a replay needed.
Prediction: Southampton 1-1 Watford
Result: Southampton 1-0 Watford
Wigan vs West Ham
Both teams needed replays in last round to get past teams in one another’s divisions, so could we see another replay needed here?
West Ham however have been in strong form since a 2-1 defeat at Manchester City in early December, winning four, drawing five and losing once in all competitions.
Both teams have met before in this competition with the Hammers winning both meetings without a replay.
Wigan scored in both third round games with Bournemouth in normal time whilst West Ham needed extra time in their replay to get their first FA Cup goal this season.
Unless David Moyes fields a strong first eleven, I fancy Wigan to cause a cupset.
Prediction: Wigan 2-0 West Ham
Result: Wigan 2-0 West Ham
Newport County vs Tottenham Hotspur (5:30pm)
Newport look to follow up their surprise home victory over Leeds United in third round by dumping Tottenham out in another cupset.
These teams have met before in this cup with Spurs claiming an aggregate 8-0 scoreline win, scoring four goals in two previous meetings.
Tottenham haven’t lost to a fourth tier team in 103 years and are unbeaten for past month.
Although the Welsh side are in League Two play off mix, this will probably be a step too far.
For that reason, I am predicting a comfortable Tottenham win.
Prediction: Newport County 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur
Result: Newport County 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Liverpool vs West Bromwich Albion (7:45pm)
These teams met last month in a league game that finished 0-0. Will we see goals here or is this headed for a replay?
Liverpool will be rotating their squad but West Brom have experienced a flu crisis this week.
That could affect the Baggies’ squad selection here but there is hope for the West Midland club.
In three previous FA Cup meetings, they have drawn twice and taken one win against the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp’s side recent home record in the FA Cup also is poor with just two wins from seven home ties since 2014. They however are unbeaten at home since losing to Crystal Palace in April.
Prediction wise, this is tough to call but I fancy Liverpool to take their first FA Cup win over the visitors.
Prediction: Liverpool 1-0 WBA
Result: Liverpool 2-3 WBA
