Today, Middlesbrough make the long trip down to the capital as they face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
Ahead of today’s game Middlesbrough have no fresh injury concerns which means Boro manager Tony Pulis has a fully fit squad to pick from.
It’ll be an interesting wait for the teams to be announced as Pulis decides who he will pick to start up front this game.
QPR on the other hand are expected to welcome back Alex Baptiste and Jordan Cousins after the pair missed last weeks game against Burton Albion.
Former Boro man Alex Baptise will certainly be hoping he gets a run out today against his former club, which saw him only make one competitive appearance, due to a horrific injury which saw him miss a whole season of football.
QPR, however will be without Paul Smyth for the visit of Middlesbrough today.
Ahead of today’s game Ian Holloway was full of praise for the new Boro manager saying: “It will be a tough ask against a side with a good manager in Tony Pulis,” Holloway told the club’s official website.
“He’s just picked up a new team and his methods are proven. His teams are always difficult to break down and score against.
“Every week is a challenge, every week presents a tough game and every week can go a different way, as we’ve found.
“So it’s all about showing your discipline. You have to keep going, not show disappointment and keep trying to win.”
QPR go into this game looking for a third straight league win, after picking up back to back wins in the league.
Middlesbrough will be hoping to get back to winning ways after they lost 1-0 to Fulham in their last game.
Boro were good value for a point and maybe even the three points but a last minute penalty decision changed all that and Fulham took the three points home.
- QPR have lost each of their last three league matches against Middlesbrough since a run of four consecutive wins between September 2010 and March 2014.
- Middlesbrough last win came back in 2016 when they won 3-2 at Loftus Road thanks to goals from, Jordan Rhodes, Gaston Ramirez and Ben Gibson.
I think QPR will give Boro a real test today and can see Boro struggling in the capital due to their inconsistent form they’ve had all season.
I expect QPR to be at the races today and Boro to stumble out of the block and eventually grow into the game and for that reason I’m going for a score draw.
Prediction: QPR 1-1 Middlesbrough
Result: QPR 0-3 Middlesbrough
