2018 is within sight but there are still two Premier Leagues games left to play before the current year is out.
First up is Crystal Palace vs Manchester City at noon before West Bromwich Albion then host Arsenal.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City (12:00pm – BT Sport 1)
Crystal Palace’s eight match unbeaten run ended on Thursday at Arsenal’s hands, whilst Manchester City are now unbeaten in 18 league games.
Its difficult to see Palace keeping City out because the Citizens have won 14 of last 15 meetings, taking 5-0 wins in the last two clashes.
City also are dominant in the per game averages as seen below.
|Per game average||Crystal Palace (home)||Manchester City (away)|
|Shots on target||5||6.5|
In the fouls department, Palace have averaged less fouls than those to already visit Selhurst Park.
Pep Guardiola’s City side too have averaged less fouls than those who hosted them as away team.
Throw in City’s proud recent record against London teams then there will be one outcome here.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-3 Manchester City
Jake predicts: Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester City
Result: Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester City
WBA vs Arsenal (4:30pm – Sky Sports PL)
Swansea’s win at Watford has sent West Brom rock bottom of the Premier League.
Arsenal are yet to not score in this fixture, despite losing their last two trips to the Hawthorns.
The latter fact will count for little with the Baggies on a 18 match winless run in this competition.
West Brom tend to score before half time (55.6% v 44.4%) whilst the Gunners’ away goal per half is dominantly post half time (75% v 25%).
Alan Pardew will be most concerned about his side’s average of 12.7 fouls from their home games this season.
When it comes to shots and goals, they average less than those who have already visited, despite having the edge in ‘shots on target’ department.
In end, I can see that costing them here and gifting Arsenal the win.
Prediction: WBA 0-2 Arsenal
Jake predicts: WBA 1-1 Arsenal
Result: WBA 1-1Arsenal
