2017-18 UEFA Champions League Group Stage 6 – Tuesday

The final midweek of UEFA Champions League group stage games are upon us.

Manchester United and Chelsea are yet to confirm their places in the last 16. Celtic however are already out but can book a post Xmas Europa League spot.

Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow

Manchester United know that a draw or win will see them through to the knockout stage as group winners.

Should Basel win their game, CSKA Moscow can still knock Man U out if they win by five goals or more.

United however are yet to lose to their Russian visitors in any of their previous meetings, making this a tough fixture.

Given that the Red Devils are going to be without Paul Pogba on Sunday, expect him to start here and help get the job done with ease.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 CSKA Moscow

Result: Manchester United 2-1 CSKA Moscow

Celtic vs Anderlecht

Celtic might be unable to progress but a point against Anderlecht will send them into the Europa League post Xmas.

Anderlecht might be on nil points but Celtic has struggled at home in the Champions League, winning one of last nine home games in the group stage.

Could this give them an mental advantage over the Hoops?

Celtic however has beaten all Belgian sides to visit Celtic Park whilst Anderlecht are yet to win in Scotland.

On that note, I am expecting Celtic to end their home struggles with victory.

Prediction: Celtic 2-0 Anderlecht

Result: Celtic 0-1 Anderlecht

Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid

Chelsea know that victory will put them through to the knockouts as group C winners.

Atletico Madrid however are staring at their first Champions League exit since becoming a regular in 2013-14 season, should they suffer anything but a win.

The Spanish side needs a win coupled with Roma drawing or losing, if want to join Chelsea in last 16.

This fixture has an incredibly tight record with both sides winning and drawing two. Ten goals have been scored by each side just to add more unpredictability to this match.

Chelsea’s home scoring record has been great, having scored in every CL game at Stamford Bridge since a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in 10-11 Quarter Finals.

In terms of prediction, both teams will give it everything but I can see Atletico’s desire to win shining through more.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Atletico Madrid

Result: Chelsea 1-1 Atletico Madrid
