This weekend’s ‘Super Sunday’ kicks off on the south coast at Dean Court as Bournemouth host Southampton in a mid table clash.
Manchester City then try to maintain their unbeaten start as they host West Ham in the tea time match.
Bournemouth vs Southampton
Bournemouth enter this tie knowing that a win will send them eleventh and their south coast rivals, Southampton.
The Saints however can move into top ten with three points and ease more pressure on Mauricio Pellegrini.
This fixture hasn’t ended goalless since February 1959, when they met in Division Three, so expect at least one goal here.
Bournemouth nearly went unbeaten throughout November but lost at home to Burnley on Wednesday night.
They will now be keen to utilise the atmosphere of a local derby as a springboard to get straight back to winning ways.
Southampton however are a difficult team to beat as Manchester City nearly found out on Wednesday.
After that game however, Nathan Redmond got a ‘Pep’ talk from City manager, Pep Guardiola.
Redmond has since said that the ex Barcelona boss was complimenting him on his qualities and that he should attack more.
Now, he has to prove why Guardiola was right to give him that advice by delivering a strong performance here.
One positive is that 15 of Southampton’s 16 points have been earned against sides sitting lower than them at start of day.
I am not expecting much here other than a draw.
Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Southampton
Jake predicts: Bournemouth 2-0 Southampton
Result: Bournemouth 1-1 Southampton
Manchester City vs West Ham
Manchester City enter this match unbeaten all season, despite two challenging games in past week.
West Ham on other hand, are in dire form with three points in October. Those points all came from draws though.
To be frank, the Hammers are worse than they were in three meetings last season. City won all of those games 12-1 on goal aggregate showing just how poor West Ham are.
This is also league top scorers (44) vs league worst defence (30) so expect plenty of goals.
Man City have faced stubborn back lines in past few games and been saved by Raheem Sterling’s late goals.
This time around, they won’t Sterling to be the hero.
Prediction: Manchester City 4-0 West Ham
Jake predicts: Manchester City 4-0 West Ham
Result: Manchester City 2-1 West Ham
