Barnsley vs Middlesbrough

Today see’s the return of club football after a hectic two week break due to the World Cup qualifying rounds finally come to a close.

Middlesbrough travel to Oakwell today and will be hoping to get back on track with three points after they seemed to have hit a brick wall in recent weeks.

Garry Monk’s side currently find themselves in 11th place and without a win in their last three games, with the their last league win coming almost a month ago when they beat QPR 3-2 at The Riverside Stadium.

Last time out, Boro drew 2-2 Brentford, a game which was probably the worst Middlesbrough have played in a very long time and were lucky to even come away with a point.

Barnsley however find themselves behind their opponents today but do come into this game with a bit of confidence after they won their last game 3-1 away to Millwall with goals coming from Tom Bradshaw (x2) and Mamadou Thiam.

Last Time Out

The last time these two sides met came in the FA Cup two years ago.

Boro ran out two-nil winners the last time that these sides met at Oakwell and will be hoping for the same again today.

Today’s game will be a tough one for Boro and Garry Monk as Middlesbrough seem to be every teams cup final this year and for that reason I can just about see Middlesbrough scrapping away with a win here.

Prediction: Barnsley 0-1 Middlesbrough

Result: Barnsley 2-2 Middlesbrough
