Huddersfield Town are back in action, as they host Leicester City at the John Smith Stadium, on Saturday afternoon.
Huddersfield were taught a harsh lesson on MNF as they were beaten 2-0 by West Ham United. It was a deserved defeat in honesty, but after going so long without conceding, it seemed at one stage that the Terriers could pick up a valuable point.
However, it wasn’t to be.
My main concern in this match for Huddersfield is how will that back-line deal with the pace of the likes of Jamie Vardy, for example?
At the London Stadium on Monday, Chris Lowe was absolutely terrorised by West Ham’s Michail Antonio, so Leicester might pick up on that, and see it as a possible way to exploit the Terries.
Also, right-back Tommy Smith struggled with the pace of the Premier League at Crystal Palace., when Wilfried Zaha beat him easily on a couple of occasions.
It could be a game for Leicester’s frustrated Demarai Gray to come into the team and show boss Craig Shakespeare, exactly why he deserves to be starting.
Leicester City come into the game, having suffered three defeats already this season, but in fairness they were against; Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea respectively.
Those results won’t give the Terriers confidence, as they will know that when Leicester’s key players are on song, they can beat any team in the league. The likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are a threat to anyone.
Leicester have already shown that they can beat a promoted side, fairly comfortably as they beat Brighton, 2-0 at the King Power Stadium.
However, Huddersfield are still unbeaten at home this season, following a win against Newcastle and a draw against Southampton. The fans played a huge role in that and the JSS could become a bit of a fortress for the Terriers with Steven Mounie and Vardy scoring in a 1-1 draw.
