Roll of European dice

Manchester City and Arsenal must win their games in hand, if they want to jeopardise Liverpool’s Champions League and European dreams.

Arsenal vs Sunderland

Defeat could mathematically end Arsene Wenger’s proud record of finishing in top four for 20 seasons.

Confidence is surely high amongst the Gunners after getting back to back league wins for first time in five months.

Sunderland however might be down but have been having a say in the futures of other clubs lately.

Ahead of their dead rubber trip to Chelsea on Sunday, Sunderland will want to have one last inference in the fate of a top flight club.

They are however to get a Premier League win over Arsenal.

The top four spots could come down to goal difference by 5pm on Sunday depending on various results.

That factor and the Mackems’ poor away record means that this should be a comfortable win for the Londoners.

Prediction: Arsenal 4-0 Sunderland

Result: Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland

Manchester City vs West Bromwich Albion

Manchester City knows that a win coupled with Arsenal losing would guarantee a top four finish.

West Brom have stuttered after securing safety so will be looking to halt their slide with at least a point here.

City will be pleased with their record in this fixture, having not lost their last 14 clashes.

The fans will be hoping that Sergio Aguero starts after scoring in the last four home games against the Baggies.

Realistically, the Citizens will cruise to victory if they curb West Brom’s set piece record.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 WBA

Result: Manchester City 3-1 WBA
