The Sky Bet Championship reaches its finale with nearly everything all sewn up.

Every player will be exhausted at this stage of the season but some clubs need their players to go to hell one last time, if they want glory.

There is however two matters to sort out on the final day of this season.

Relegation

One of Blackburn Rovers, Nottingham Forest or Birmingham City will be relegated to League One come the final whistle.

Birmingham’s task is simple. Just get a point then their place in the second tier is safe, depending on no shocking results elsewhere. Blackburn however need to better Forest, if want to pull off the great escape.

Nottingham Forest just need to win but should both sides lose, they need to ensure that their defeat isn’t worse than Blackburn’s by two goals.

In the event that Birmingham lose and the pair below them win, the 2011 League Cup winners will go down on goal difference.

Bristol City vs Birmingham

The Brummies can’t afford to draw here if they want to make absolute certainity of survival.

Since defeat 24 years ago, Birmingham haven’t lost in this fixture, so will be confident of getting themselves the required point at a minimum.

Bristol City will be keen to give Tammy Abraham a send off to remember as he returns to parent club, Chelsea.

They themselves have nothing to play for other than position so can afford to experiment here.

The Englishman has scored 23 goals for the Robins this season on loan, so will want to thank the fans by delivering one final victory for them.

Birmingham however will bring more desire and that will earn them safety and three precious points.

Prediction: Bristol City 1-2 Birmingham

Result: Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich

Victory is absolutely critical here for Nottingham Forest if they want to survive.

This fixture has belonged to Forest since the turn of the millennium making them favourites here.

Ipswich however have underperformed this season and will be looking to lay down some building blocks here, ahead of next season.

Most Forest fans should be worried because the home side haven’t won any of their last three home games on the final day.

Another defeat here could prove to be a brutal blow that sends them back down to League One for the first time since 2007-08.

The final stages will be tense if both sides don’t deliver strong performances.

A draw here is probably likely given the superior quality that the Tractor Boys have up front.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Ipswich

Result: Nottingham Forest 3-0 Ipswich

Brentford vs Blackburn

Blackburn just have to leave it all on the pitch at Griffin Park, if want to produce an epic final day escape.

Brentford however have the upper hand in this fixture on recent results.

They however lost the equivalent home fixture last season giving Rovers hope.

Blackburn haven’t lost on their last five trips to London with four draws and a single win.

A draw won’t be enough but that win did come here last season furthering any belief currently held amongst Tony Mowbray and his squad.

The Bees’ final day record however is strong, having won their final fixtures of the past few seasons.

As sad as it will be seeing Blackburn and Tony Mowbray tumble into third tier, I have to go for a Brentford win because they have finished the past few seasons strongly and are unbeatable on their day.

Prediction: Brentford 2-0 Blackburn Rovers

Result: Brentford 1-3 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers are RELEGATED!!!!!

Title

We know Brighton and Newcastle are going up but who will enter the Premier League as champions?

The Seagulls just need to win regardless of what Newcastle do.

The Magpies however need victory and anything less for Brighton will send the trophy to St James’ Park.

Aston Villa vs Brighton and Hove Albion

Since securing promotion, Brighton have gone off the boil but welcome back Sam Baldock from injury here.

Aston Villa however are looking to end this season on a high, ahead of a potential promotion tilt next season.

Chris Houghton wants his Seagulls to fly up with a trophy but must overcome a miserable record at Villa Park.

Brighton haven’t won at the Villains in 11 meetings across all competitions making this a tough ask.

Houghton himself has not won his last six games against Villa, since beating them 6-0 with Newcastle back in 2010.

Given their woeful record against Steve Bruce’s side, they won’t be champions and a draw will be the outcome.

Prediction: Aston Villa 0-0 Brighton and Hove Albion

Result: Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton and Hove Albion

Newcastle vs Barnsley

Unlike Chris Houghton, Rafa Benitez just wants to win this fixture even if it isn’t enough for the trophy.

Speaking to BBC Newcastle, the Spaniard said: “We have to be really pleased with the season and what we have achieved. Now we have an opportunity to be even happier. It is a great opportunity, hopefully the fans will enjoy it and we can win and everything will be even better.

The Tykes haven’t won at the Toon Army in nearly 35 years and have conceded at least two goals in their last six league meetings.

Benitez however won’t be fully confident, having lost his only home game against Barnsley.

A 2-1 defeat at Anfield in the 2007-08 FA Cup 5th round during his Liverpool reign.

That aside, expect St James’ to be rocking come full time, come what may at Villa Park.

Prediction: Newcastle 3-0 Barnsley

Result: Newcastle 3-0 Barnsley

Newcastle are CHAMPIONS!!!!!
