Rise of Leicester Foxes?

Leicester City head into the return leg of their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid, 1-0 down on aggregate.

Is Leicester’s European dreams coming to an end of will the Foxes rise and beat the odds again?

Team News

Leicester captain, Wes Morgan faces a late fitness test after recovering from a back injury.

Robert Huth is however suspended after picking up a fifth yellow card in the first leg.

Atletico could welcome Kevin Gameiro back from a groin injury, that has kept him out of their last five matches.

Gabi, Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Saul Niguez were all rested during Saturday’s La Liga win over Osasuna. They’re expected to all start tonight after missing that 3-0 win.

Attack or failure

After failing to land a shot on target at the Vincente Calderon, the Foxes need to attack if they want to make the last four.

With Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez back to their best, there is no reason why they can’t come from behind at the King Power Stadium.

If they do that, they can extend their unbeaten home run in Europe to five.

Advantage Madrid

Atletico Madrid come here knowing that they have progressed on every previous occasion against Leicester.

Nearly 70% of teams with a 1-0 lead from the first leg have all gone through and Atletico have made the semis in three of last four seasons.

With it all to do, Leicester will throw the kitchen sink at the visitors and grab at least one goal.

Both teams rested players at the weekend meaning that this could be a lively game, especially if extra time and penalties are needed.

The fact that both teams play a similar style and the fact that the Foxes are yet to lose at home in this competition, makes the tie tougher to call.

Both teams will score but expect away goals to come into play.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Atletico Madrid (Atletico Madrid win 2-2 on away goals)

Result: Leicester 1-1 Atletico Madrid (Atletico Madrid win 2-1 on aggregate)
