After an dramatic Saturday saw Chelsea’s lead get cut to seven points, Arsenal host Manchester City in what promises to be a critical game in the race for a top four finish.
The early match however focuses on relegation as Middlesbrough travel to Swansea hoping for a win.
This is no other Sunday with everything at stake in both matches so expect proper humdingers.
Swansea vs Middlesbrough
Hull’s victory over West Ham makes this match even more important for Middlesbrough if they want to survive.
Both sides have strong squads available after the International break. Only Calum Chambers and George Friend are ruled out for Boro.
Both sides cancel one another out because the Swans are dodgy in defence whereas Boro’s issues lie up front. At this stage of the season, desire is going to be key going for wins. Its even more important here ahead of a tricky midweek for both.
Winning here will help reduce the pressure on Boro at Hull, whilst Swansea have an unfathomable task against Tottenham on Wednesday night.
A draw here is the most likeliest score but expect Middlesbrough to have just that bit extra determination to gain the points.
Prediction: Swansea 1-2 Middlesbrough
Result: Swansea 0-0 Middlesbrough
Arsenal vs Manchester City
This is a must win for Arsenal if they want a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Arsene Wenger has an injury crisis on his hands with Petr Cech ruled out. He joins Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez on the sidelines.
Manchester City is still without long term absentees, Jesus Gabriel and Ilkay Gundogan.
After producing woeful performances in the last few months, Wenger needs to brace himself for more protests from fans. With his proud Champions League qualification record set to be left in tatters, defeat here will be his worst nightmare.
Their defending at West Brom was just laughable to watch as the Baggies dominated every set piece. A repeat here will surely spell the end of their top four hopes.
Man City has produced a strong run lately so will be favourites here. They have won their last three league games on the road which is a worry for Arsenal, who have won six of their last seven home games.
Both teams have scored 11 goals from set pieces but the Gunners recent defending is just shambolic. If they haven’t sorted out the problems that plagued them at the Hawthorns a fortnight ago, expect City to really batter them when get opportunities at corners or free kicks.
With April being jam packed, a draw isn’t out of the realms of possibilities. The match will be open with both sides going for it. Man City should however have that extra power going forwards and come out as comfortable winners winners.
Prediction: Arsenal 0-2 Manchester City
Result: Arsenal 2-2 Manchester City
